Thaumatococcus daniellii is a perennial plant that belongs to the Marantaceae family and typically grows in shaded and understory areas of tropical rainforests. The plant features large, lush, dark green leaves that can reach up to a meter in length and the small, red berries of the plant are covered in a husk-like structure.
