Hedera helix is a species of Ivy native, an evergreen climbing plant, growing to 20–30m high where suitable surfaces (trees, cliffs, walls) are available, and also growing as groundcover where there are no vertical surfaces. The leaves are alternate, 50–100mm long, with a 15–20mm petiole.

The general rule of thumb is that you should only water a houseplant if the top of the soil feels dry. Water deeply, thoroughly and infrequently!
